Run For The Firies is a combined fund raiser between Research and Kangaroo Ground Fire Brigades to be held on September 12th 2010 at 9am. Please download an information flyer here.
The Shire of Nillumbik has developed a series of walking trails. The Research trail is a popular, off road trail along the footpaths in Research and Eltham plus the now disused aqueduct. It is a sealed path which winds its way along the tree lined aqueduct then turns back up along the Main Road Eltham.
It is suitable for runners, joggers or leisurely walkers and lends itself to families and first time competitors. The route will be lined by marshals to help and guide. There will be drink stations or bottled water provided.
Following the success of last years event, we have had to find a park with greater capacity. Therefore the run will commence and finish in the grounds of Eltham North Reserve & Adventure Playground on Wattletree Rd, Eltham North, Melway 21 K1 where your numbered bib will be collected from the admin tent. Those wishing to enter on the day are welcome but this will be cash only.
